Confession

The sky is a battleship grey; it is pouring with rain; it is freezing cold. I cannot believe we were so recently cavorting in the picture book landscape and eating our hearts out (oh yes we were, boar stew does nothing for the heart).

Wrapped in my florentine shawl (with holes, beastly moths), feet on the raised hearth in the big kitchen, fire loaded up, glass of something, and Peter Temple's Dead Point in hand, I have given up on the finer points of 17th century constitutional behaviour in England, and -

I am eating the pandoro!

parsinThe sun is shinning and the birds are finally singing, the first day of summer and the weather is finally behaving according to time of year, about time too,we have had the worst spring on record.Hope the winter blues pass quickly.
Sad day for Sydney on hearing that the architect of the Sydney Opera House has passed away at the age of 90. I still cringe at the way he was treated by the State Government all those years ago.We had our wedding reception in the northern foyer of the concert hall with the harbour as our back drop. Still the most beautiful building I have been in.Sadly Mr Utzon never returned to Sydney to see his masterpiece completed.
